Advanced Spanish
Master the 10,000 words that stand between you and C1
Hit the wall after B1?
Most classroom curricula run out of road past B1. Past 5,000 words, repetition drops below what incidental learning needs — and the 5k-to-10k stretch is where DELE C1 lives. Capuchino is built for that stretch.
The loop
Three steps. No fluff.
Assess
A 50-item temperature check, stratified across frequency bands. Self-rate each word — sólido, dudoso, desconocido — on a real example sentence. Takes about 10 minutes.
See your gaps
Every word above your estimated cliff, plus anything you marked shaky or unknown. Override anything: "actually I know this," "actually I don't." You stay in charge.
Export
Clean TSV/CSV with lemma, gloss, example, and frequency rank. Drop it into Anki, Mochi, or whatever SRS you already trust. We don't reinvent spaced repetition.

Topic-based sub-lists
Sometimes you want to drill a slice. The first topic — the human body — is live for beta testers, with around 510 lemmas at the default confidence threshold. Seven more are on deck.

Analyze any Spanish text
Reading an editorial, a chapter, your favorite blog? Paste it in. We'll show you exactly which words sit above your cliff — the ones blocking comprehension. Save the text to your archive and revisit later to watch the gap shrink as your Spanish grows.
From a recent editorial
El periodista descubrió que el acantilado no era simplemente metafórico. Su prosa fluía, pero ciertas palabras resbalaban sin arraigar — vocablos que reconocía vagamente pero no podía producir cuando los necesitaba.
5 words above your cliff. Save the article, watch your gap shrink over time.
Build in public
A word from the founders
Capuchino is an early prototype. A first (rough) version of the assessment works, identifying gaps works (i.e., the 10K list vs. what you already know), export works, the first topic is live. A lot is still thin: no audio yet, only one frequency list, basic self-rating. Sharing it now to help iterate with real learners.
“If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you've launched too late.”
If you're past B1 and tired of apps that teach you to introduce yourself again — you are exactly who Capuchino is for.
